G-Spot

G-Spot … It’s not what you think! But I’m glad you visited here anyway if you’re here by mistake!

For decades, especially since a lot of studies in the 1950’s and 60’s about what healthy sex was, the g-spot became relegated to the bedroom. Long before that though, and in a much larger presence since, anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists and religious experts research and teach about the Godspot, a place which has given birth to a science called Neurotheology (new one for me!).

From the National Institute of Health, Neurotheology is “also known as “spiritual neuroscience”1, is an emerging field of study that seeks to understand the relationship between the brain science and religion.2 Scholars in this field, strive up front to explain the neurological ground for spiritual experiences such as “the perception that time, fear or self-consciousness have dissolved; spiritual awe; oneness with the universe.”

Isn’t fascinating that the entire world is seeking a spot where they find what they are looking for?

The music group Anointed released the song Godspot ion their album Anointed in 1999.

Began a new life
Found a love of your own
Got someone by your side
Now you don’t have to be alone
But you find yourself in need
Of more than what they can give
And it’s taking all your strength within
To get them to understand

Well there’s a place within the soul
There’s a place where nobody knows
It’s a place, some they come and go
But no one can fulfill the Godspot
A place (yeah) that’s in demand
Need a lot of love someone to understand
It’s a place where only He can
Cause no one can fulfill the Godspot
(oh, no, no)
Always surrounded
By so many many friends
They were like family, (yeah)
Promised to be there ’till the end
But then you realized you gave
Too much of your heart away
You put all your trust in them
You thought
When everyone has let you down
Remember God, He’ll always be around
And when life seems impossible
Trust in Him, and you will find He’s able
Yes, He’s able, yeah
Yes He is.
I’m trying to say that things and people
Will never satisfy
Cause there is nothing or anyone
Who can take the place of God
No one can fulfill it,
It’s a Godspot, yes it is
No one can take the place of God

(Repeat to fade)

Godspot lyrics © Warner/Chappell Music, Inc, Fun Attic Music, LLC

When we were in the garden, we did not know loneliness; we did not seek God. He though, spoke the words “it is not good for man to live alone” (Gen 2:18). After we are exiled from the garden though, we find out what it means to miss Him, to discover we need Him.  There is no place in the world where man does not seek a higher power; it is only in the home of the Triune God that we find the peace of knowing the hole can be and is filled.

I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
    My body rests in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.      Psalm 16:8-11 (NLT)

You have shown me the way of life,
and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.    Acts 2:28 (NLT)
The G-Spot is not some momentary sexual thing for a person to seek over and over again. Once it’s found, it’s lost until next time and between is loneliness. The Godspot though is permanent. Once accepted into your heart, you no longer have to search because you have been found. Rejoice!
Be Blessed.

Missing the Point

Oh how blind we are.  Constantly looking with our eyes.  Seeing with our assumptions, our preconceived biases and prejudices. Judging without considering all the information.  Think carefully before you say, “Oh, not I” and walk away.

Think about your day thus far …. have you decided you are right and someone else was wrong? Have you looked at the person on the corner seeking change; did you see the person on the corner seeking change on the corner? Did you roll your eyes at another persons comments, maybe a spouse or parents, or child’s?

We are so quick to think we see and know it all we forget we don’t, and this includes those things concerning Triune God.

Therefore, Go …

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, —Matthew 28:19 NIV

Where are you going?

Today. Where are your feet taking you?  Where are the wheels of your car transporting you?  Where are the words you are going to speak or write or think, thus act on (or not), going to land?

Where are you rushing off to now that I’ve made you very uncomfortable?

If you’re not uncomfortable, good for you, maybe you’re on track.  Maybe I’m on track.  If you are uncomfortable, STOP!

I confess, I never know what words are going to go on this page until I have prayed.  I do believe they are from my heart, but inspired; that they are messages for someone, sometimes me, out there reading this someday.  Maybe it’s you today, so just stop for a moment.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, —Matthew 28:19 NIV

Every Sunday when I leave church I wonder how many really heard more than just the words and went through just the motions.  How many of my fellow ‘Christians’ are not just going through the habit of acting like they believe.

When is the last time you’ve read, considered and accepted the words of Matthew 28:19?  When is the last time you spoke of Jesus with another person let alone a non-believer?  When is the last time you did more than let your neighbors let you see your home in your Sunday best going to that place those people go to instead of sleeping in?  When is the last time you explained the Triune God to anyone or even mentioned them to anyone?

I know, this is a scary thing to do.  I remember first stepping out and being excluded because people didn’t want to offend me.  So I went anyway and showed them I could be a Christian there too, and after a while, some of them came to me so I could disciple.

From here courage increased.  No, not everyone came and accepted, but that was okay, everyone isn’t my job, but someone was.  Next came the harder task, the person I was to get in their face about.  That was a near 10-year task.  Life by example at first, then gentle nibbles, then face-to-face, over drinks, hard conversations.  He didn’t turn into a rebel rousing preacher, but I don’t doubt his place in heaven.  I’m not telling these stories to brag, but to give you examples of where your feet could take you today, tomorrow and always.

Live as He desires you to live, others will see and ask, then answer.

Speak of Him, them, gently and unobtrusively.  When a heart is softened, it will seek to know more from you.

When your told to be a Paul and get assertive, say “Yes Sir”, pick up your Bible and whatever other tools you need and go.  It will hurt and be hard but oh the eternal payment will make it so worth it! Angels will be singing!

Remember, you’re not a denomination, you’re a Christian, a follower of Christ, the Son of God.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, —Matthew 28:19 NIV

Your First Thought

When you hear the word Christmas, what is the first picture that comes to mind? Be honest with yourself.

Ah, Christmas. A beautiful, healthy mature teen mother cradling a healthy, smiling, content infant watched over by a strong, strapping husband in a warm, cozy stable.  The sky is clear, stars are bright, especially this one right over the stable.  A clear, beautiful voice starts to sing, serenading the child.  What could be more perfect?

SAY WHAT?????????????????????? Continue reading “Your First Thought”

Lives Matter

Driving home from the grocery store yesterday I saw a sign that infuriated me. “Muslim lives matter”.  I’m sick of this.  Enough of <fill in the blank> lives matter, the Bible tells all directly and clearly, consistently in all versions, who matters. Continue reading “Lives Matter”

Black and White

How do you look at life?  Do you live in a world of black and white, right and wrong, or do you live in shades of gray?  What are your convictions? What do you speak clearly about?

If you are a black and white kind of person, is that 100% of yourself?

How do you react to gray situations? Continue reading “Black and White”

Where am I?

How many times do we pray “Lord, what do you want me to do? I’m right here, just tell me”.  I don’t know about you but I do it a lot.  At least I did, until earlier this week when in choir we rehearsed the song “Here Am I”.

We’ve all wanted to be the center of attention at some point or be the one the teacher picked or the boy called or the club picked or … the list goes on.  There are times in our life where we so desperately desire to know that other people see us. We want to know we’re not invisible.  For some reason we can’t be content with knowing that we exist, we have to know that others see value in us and that’s when we exist, at least for a moment.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’
Isaiah 58:9
Maybe we need to rethink our attitude.  Instead of being so fixated on making sure the teacher sees us with the ‘here, here, here’ type talk we should look at ourselves.
As a child of God, baptized through the Holy Spirit, given more grace than you deserve, loved more deeply than any ocean, and blessed with eternal freedom you don’t need to jump around looking for attention.  Instead, you need to stand tall, confident in who you are and just do it.
If you think God wants you to do it, DO IT.  Just do it. Jesus the man, knew the God the Father, was giving him all He was giving you. Instead of the weak ‘here I am’, Jesus declares the strong ‘I AM HERE’, and steps out.
Jesus said to them,
“If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here.
I came not of my own accord,
but he sent me.
Take a moment and enjoy this song
