Disappointing

Growing up I had noone to teach me what it meant to standup for what you believe in.  I was introduced to the idea of it when I developed an obsession, at the age of 6, of watching every news program I could, desperate to see the face of my brother, terrified that I would see his body.  It was at this tender age  I learned about history, war, valor, love, peace, fairness and compassion.  At this time an uncle taught the value of family, commitment, honesty and showed how coming together, working together, made us all stronger.  I ended up being a very passionate person, one who believes if something is worth expending my belief in it, then its worth energy.  I don’t understand apathy.

In the last several years our country has been very loud, at least in words, about loving our first responders & military men & women, and many on issues and groups that have been busy lately; however, I was shocked and then saddened recently when I went to a ballgame and at the national anthem people talked, laughed, carried on, and didn’t salute. I understand not everyone serves in the military but I also know in a group of 500 people, I’m not the only veteran.

Perhaps it was just an off night and I noticed it.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. – 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. – Romans 15:5-7

This is a season of prayer.  We have dangers all around us. and have had since we left the garden.  And will have until we 9o home.
Sometimes those dangers are from others,  Sometimes they are from within, like apathy.
While in prayer examine your beliefs. Make sure you can answer for them, stand up for them.
Pray for strength & courage to stand against the people of Sa+an.

Blessed to be a blessing!

Author:

Let me tell you who I'm not. I'm not a Pastor or trained religious scholar. I have no degrees that declare me qualified; I have a God who makes it so. So, how can I write about Christ? How can I teach, preach, evangelize, share or testify? I am doing nothing more than answering a call from God. I am a woman of faith, a nobody, as a current song espouses, who wants to tell everybody about somebody. I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel, the Good New. I want to share the hope that is given to us and share the unbelievable gifts of grace, mercy and forgiveness that is given so freely with the birth, death, resurrection and acceptance of God's son, Jesus Christ.
